My Life of Anime/Manga Hair

I blew my own mind last night.

How'd I never notice this?

I'd really been wearing my hair like Anotsu. For most of my life. Wut.

2009, an Aya moment.
There was even a bit of Zechs last year.
And at some point of time I resembled a girl.
But I once had same cut and even parting as Akira, when I was seven.

...

I don't even.

This discovery was only made possible with a combination of having my Motherland Chronicles things open while chatting with someone about Anotsu and Aya.

All of a sudden I saw the resemblance from the 1st pic, a styling test for week 2, sitting innocently in the background. I had to do a double take because, WHAT IS THIS? WE HAVE THE SAME HAIR. THE LONG SIDE BANGS THING. MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS. AND. AND ME TOO. WHAT.

I don't know how I'd never noticed this ever.

Random nights are random.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - Awakening of the Trailblazer

I was so excited when I found out that Singapore is the first country to be showing the new Gundam 00 movie outside Japan. On the same day as the Japanese premier no less. I haven't been excited about a movie in a long time and I was really looked forward to seeing this.

The show opened with some unexpectedly hilarious moments, I enjoyed all the rest of it, tightly packed, good music and all. With except a small nagging feeling that the climax wasn't as impactful as I had hoped it would be, it's really not terrible, I guess I just wished for more.

The ending was a tad abrupt, I was almost disappointed for a moment, but it eventually wrapped up beautifully with an omake after the credits at the very end.

"Peace cannot be achieved by force. It can only be attained by understanding each other. "

I've always loved quotes from the Gundam series. The talks of war, peace and belief always makes me think that life is so much larger than just an individual of self, yet at the same time, I can make a difference in this gargantuan place by doing my best, no matter how small my actions are.

It was probably from being obsessed with Gundam Wing as a child, the things it taught me so deeply ingrained in me now -- hope, belief, persistence; existence, protect, future.

So perhaps it's only me, but watching the 00 movie was really inspiring and motivating all over again.

PS: Setsuna's all grown up (and hot) now. Totally saw some Heero moments in there.

Gundam Cup Noodle, I has it~!

So we've seen the large 1:1 life-sized Gundam in Odaiba. Here I present you the tiniest 1:380 model. =D

Once more, in conjunction with the Gundam 30th Anniversary, here is Cup Noodle x Gunpla.

Smallest in history~

To get an idea of the size. It's not like my thumb is huge, the thing's just simply tiny.

There are 4 different designs in total. I've only got two and am too lazy to open the other one so... here's the completed model anyway. XD

It's quite nostalgic actually, despite how small and quick it is to assemble these things, it's been a long time since I'd made a model myself. Ahh childhood.

Well, I think this is all for nerdy posts. Now we wait for the 40th year anniversary. XD

/Edit:
For those who asked, it's from Tokyo. You can get them from toy stores, convenience stores don't carry them. :3

Let there be Gundam. Oh yeah.

Man I sound like some serious otaku.

But really, life-sized Gundam = Epicness 200% + full of Awesome Win.

And I'm one step closer to seeing the impossibility of my childhood dream come undone, heh.

For those who're interested, it's in Odaiba, just a little outside of Tokyo. And will probably be there till the end of August 2009. Read more on AnimeNewsNetwork.

Also went to Tokyo Tower at night, just beautiful.

Ahh, it's been a long time since I experienced a day of such simplicity. Yet I was happy. Truly so.
